UK Government announces £20 million of BEIS funding to support its Clean Growth Fund

The UK Government announced the launch of the Clean Growth Fund (CGF) on 21 May 2020. The CGF is intended to speed up the deployment of innovative clean technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, by making direct investments available for companies seeking to commercialise promising clean technologies.

The new CGF combines public and private investment and forms part of the UK Government’s Clean Growth Strategy. The GCF comprises of a £20m investment through the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s Energy Innovation Programme and a £20m investment from CCLA, a UK institutional investor with an environmental social governance agenda.
