FCA announces its intention to develop a Code of Conduct for Environmental, Social and Governance data and ratings providers

On 22 November 2022, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced the formation of a new Working Group to develop a UK specific voluntary Code of Conduct for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data and ratings providers.  The Code is intended to be internationally consistent, by taking into account IOSCO’s recommendations as well as developments in jurisdictions such as Japan and the EU. This will help encourage the development of consistent global standards.
