​UK Green Building Council publishes Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap

On 16 November 2021, the UK Green Building Council (UK GBC) launched a Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap (the Roadmap) with the aim of outlining a common vision and agreeing on industry-wide actions in order to achieve net zero for buildings and infrastructure in the UK.

The Roadmap consists of four reports:

• a technical report which defines net zero and the methodologies behind measuring net zero;
• a pathway to net zero for the UK built environment, including recommendations drawn from policymakers and industry-wide practitioners;
• a summary for policymakers of recommendations for central governments to deliver a net zero built environment by 2050; and
• stakeholder action plans specifying recommended actions for 14 key industry stakeholders, including amongst other groups, a variety of industry bodies, lenders, developers, occupiers, property managers and manufacturers.
