European Commission publishes consultation paper seeking views on the quality of EU corporate reporting by listed companies and public entities

On 12 November 2021, the European Commission published a consultation paper ('Strengthening of the quality of corporate reporting and its enforcement') seeking responses on the quality of EU corporate reporting by listed companies and public interest entities, and the enforcement of this reporting.

The consultation paper looks to assess the quality of corporate reporting and compare potential solutions to issues encountered in this area. Amongst other things, sustainability information is included under corporate reporting pursuant to the proposed Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
