European Commission delays application date of Regulatory Technical Standards supplementing the Sustainability Financial Disclosure Regulation

On 25 November 2021, the European Commission confirmed that it will further delay the application of the regulatory technical standards (RTS) supplementing the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation ((EU)(2019/2088)) from 1 July 2022 to 1 January 2023. By its letter of 8 July 2021, the European Commission had already delayed the application of the RTS from 1 January 2022 to 1 July 2022. The further delays are cited as being due to the length and complexity of the RTS and are intended to to facilitate the smooth implementation of the RTS.
