Chancery Lane Project publishes net-zero toolkit
06 October 2021On 30 September 2021, The Chancery Lane Project (TCLP) published its net zero toolkit which aims to enable lawyers to use climate and net-zero aligned clauses within their contracts, aligning the work they do with a decarbonised economy.
The net zero toolkit includes 100 climate clauses, of which 20 are newly established and 24 are 'best-in-class' high ambition clauses aligned with the Paris Agreement goal of limiting the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels by 2050.
There are seven sections of the toolkit which add to its functionality, including:
- a clause timeline;
- a net zero transition map;
- a net zero drafting checklist;
- a glossary and net zero definitions;
- a list of case studies;
- the best in class net zero clauses; and
- net zero implementation tools.
