CFA Institute launches consultation on ESG disclosure standards

The CFA Institute has published a consultation paper (the Consultation) seeking feedback on the proposed scope, structure, and design principles for its forthcoming voluntary, global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosure Standards for Investment Products (the Standards). In addition, the CFA Institute has called for volunteers to support the next phase of the development of the Standards.

The Standards are intended to provide greater transparency and comparability for investors by enabling asset managers to clearly communicate the ESG-related features of their investment products. Public commentary on the Consultation will help shape an exposure draft of the Standards, which is expected to be issued in May 2021.

The deadline for responses is 19 October 2020.
