    LMA publishes commentary To The Interest Rate Provisions In The South African Law Facilities Agreements

    The LMA is pleased to have published Guidance on the RFR provisions in the South African law documentation. The Commentary on interest rate provisions in the South African law facilities agreements relevant to the South African market’s transition from JIBAR to ZARONIA was updated to recommended form. The Commentary consolidates guidance on the RFR provisions in those documents into a single interest rate commentary.

    LMA publishes South African Law Unsecured Single Currency Single Borrower Term And Revolving Facilities Agreement (Compounded ZARONIA)

    The LMA is pleased to have published updates to Day One ZARONIA facility agreement. Following market feedback since its initial publication in December 2025, the Day One ZARONIA facility agreement has been updated to recommended form. This reflects the “No New JIBAR” initiative published by the MPG, which provides that no new JIBAR transactions should be entered into from 1 May 2026.

    LMA publishes updates to Borrowing Base Facility Agreement and User Guide


    The LMA is pleased to have published an updated Borrowing Base Facility Agreement and User Guide, developed in close consultation with the LMA’s Commodities Finance Working Party. The updates reflect market developments since the documents were first published in 2021.

    LMA publishes updated Secondary Trading Documentation

    The LMA is pleased to have updated versions of the Standard Terms and Conditions for Par and Distressed Trade Transactions, the full suite of Funded Participation and Risk Participation Agreements and the Secondary Debt Trading Documentation User Guide have been published on the LMA documentation hub today as pending with an effective date of 17th March 2026.

    Discussion on FCA's forthcoming consultation paper

    On 4 February, we hosted an in‑person roundtable with Anne Wrobel (the FCA’s Head of Wholesale Market Analysis & Policy), ahead of the FCA’s forthcoming consultation paper on securitisation.  Anne shared timely insights on the regulatory direction of travel, opportunities for reform, and how the FCA is thinking about transparency, reporting, and private credit.

    LMA publishes guidance on dealing with sanctioned lenders in developing markets transactions

    The LMA is pleased to have published a guidance note to help parties consider key payment and documentary issues that may arise if a lender becomes sanctioned mid-transaction. Given the complexity and fast-changing nature of sanctions, the note does not include drafting recommendations. Most transactions will not face material sanctions-related risks in respect of lenders.

    JIBAR transition: LMA publishes updated commentary on interest rate provisions in SA law documents

    Following the publication of the LMA Day One ZARONIA Agreement and the update of the South African Rate Switch Agreement to recommended form, the LMA has updated its existing South African Rate Switch Commentary to cover both the Day One ZARONIA Agreement and the unsecured and secured Rate Switch Agreements.
