European Loan Markets Conference, 17 June 2025
Círculo de Bellas Artes, Alcalá, 42, Madrid, 28014
This year, we are delighted to be bringing the LMA European Loan Markets Conference to Madrid on 17 June – a flagship event held at a spectacular venue. This conference is designed to bring together senior industry leaders and key stakeholders from across the loan markets for a day of insightful discussions and valuable networking.
The economic landscape is changing rapidly, and the loan markets across the world are evolving in response. To successfully adapt to these changes, decision-makers must come together to share insights, tackle challenges, and seize new opportunities. Under the theme “Mobilising the Market,” we have curated an agenda that explores the loan markets from multiple angles and in depth.
Highlights from the agenda:
- Loan Leaders Panel – “Market Momentum: The State of European Lending”: senior syndication heads from Intesa Sanpaolo, Deutsche Bank, KBC, BBVA, Crédit Agricole and a global asset‑manager share views on 2025 deal flow, pricing and pockets of opportunity.
- Keynote Economic Outlook: a noted economist and former BBC News Chief Business Correspondent sets the macro and political context for credit deployment.
- Real Assets, Real Returns: ARC Ratings senior expert outlines the latest trends in infrastructure, project and data‑centre finance.
- Deploying Capital in Defence: Senior leaders and advisers examine valuations, volumes and investor appetite in a rapidly changing sector.
- Emerging Regulation Landscape: Secretary General from IOSCO highlights the rules that will reshape the market.
- Technology in Transition: fintech providers and loan‑platform specialists discuss the digital future of origination, trading and documentation.
- From Origination to Optimisation: perspectives from BBVA and the European Investment Fund experts on the tools available to manage the 2025 loan book.
- The Great Recalibration: sustainable‑finance leaders debate greenwashing risk, transition finance, biodiversity and nature‑based innovation.
Why Attend?
This conference will unite senior experts from across the industry to share a wealth of knowledge and insights, helping market participants to thrive in this evolving environment. We can only mobilise the market and shape the future of loan markets if we come together — connecting with peers, regulators, and borrowers to gain first-hand insights into market developments and collaborate on the trends shaping European loan markets.

European Loan Markets Conference, 17 June 2025

European loan markets – the year to date and looking ahead. Where are the opportunities?
Latest trends and opportunities in infrastructure, project, and date centre financing.
How are markets looking at valuation and appetite with changing volume projections and the geopolitical backdrop?
What are the tools available and what opportunities do these bring for the broader markets.
This panel will unpack the recalibrations underway, explore heightened scrutiny around greenwashing, and examine the widening gap in ambition and approach across jurisdictions. Panelists will also highlight where innovation is flourishing - in areas like transition finance, biodiversity, and nature-based solutions – showing that this is far from the end of the sustainability story.
