Private Credit Afternoon Seminar

The LMA will be holding its first Private Credit Seminar on Tuesday 5 December 2023.

The private credit market has grown rapidly over the last years.  This event for LMA members will look at private credit across the spectrum and from different perspectives. 

In particular, the Seminar will explore the rise of private credit, current trends and challenges given the recent market environment and lower levels of M&A, as well as the various opportunities available to private credit including its role in recent P2P transactions.  The seminar will also cover how private credit and banks have been working alongside each other, including how the LMA senior / super senior ICA (first published in 2018) has worked in practice.

The agenda for the afternoon is set out below:  

• Market update from Bloomberg
• Key aspects of the IOSCO report on private finance
• Overview of the key aspects of the LMA's senior/super senior intercreditor from Jones Day
• How banks and private credit work together (including intercreditor touch points), with views from Barclays, Clifford Chance and HSBC private credit 
• Trends, challenges and opportunities in the private credit market with views from Apax, Barings, Deloitte, Investec, Pemberton and Proskauer

Registration will open at 13.30 with the seminar starting at 14.00. The event will close at 17.30 and will be followed by a drinks reception open to all attendees.
