PRESS RELEASE: LMA publishes a model form CRI policy document

We, with the assistance of the Lloyd' s Market Association ("Lloyd's) and the International Underwriting Association ("IUA"), have published a model form of Credit Risk Insurance Policy ("CRI Policy"). It is drafted for the purposes of insuring single borrower credit risk arising from a loan agreement; and
with a view to the CRR requirements for unfunded credit protection.

The CRI Policy was put together by an experienced working party, consisting of representatives from law firms, banks, brokers, insurers, A2Z Risk Services, Lloyd's and the IUA and was based on their first-hand experiences of undertaking such transactions.

PRESS RELEASE: LMA looks to bolster integrity of the sustainability-linked loan product

The sustainability-linked loan (SLL) product is ideally placed to provide a meaningful contribution to financing the transition to net-zero. The SLL, with its flexible, cross-sector framework, has seen a meteoric rise in terms of loan volume and issuance over the past few years. As the success of the SLL continues to grow, it is more important than ever that the market remains vigilant against the erosion of the core components of the Sustainability-linked Loan Principles. The integrity of the SLL must be protected. To aid with this, the LMA has released a series of three articles, addressing issues regarding the setting of key performance indicators (KPIs) and sustainability performance targets (SPTs) as well as focusing on the issue of timing.

Interview with Reinhard Haas at Commerzabank

In the third of a series of interviews with senior market practitioners, Clare Dawson, Chief Executive at the LMA, speaks to Reinhard Haas, Global Head Syndicated Finance at Commerzbank. We ask him: what have been the main challenges for the market this year; what impact are rising energy prices and potential shortages over the winter having on the syndicated loan market; what do you see as the main potential areas of growth in the syndicated loan market in 2023; and how focused are borrowers and lenders on US$ Libor transition, and how successful is the transition of legacy deals so far?
