We held our fourth annual conference in Johannesburg on 12 July 2017. This event, rebranded as the LMA Sub Saharan African Syndicated Loans Conference, covered the syndicated loan markets not only in South Africa but also the wider Sub Saharan Africa region.
It was aimed at all professionals operating in the syndicated loan markets in Sub Saharan Africa. As usual, the programme featured senior loan market practitioners from local and pan-African commercial banks and DFIs, as well as non-banks, professional advisors and law firms active in the region.
Speakers shared their views on the liquidity of the loan markets in Sub Saharan Africa, and how this might be impacted by economic conditions, technological innovation and geopolitical risk. There was also sessions on project finance and cross-border lending.
