UK FCA releases consultation paper on proposals to enhance climate-related disclosures by listed issuers and clarification of existing disclosure obligations

01 May 2020

In March 2020, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published consultation paper 20/3, 'Proposals to enhance climate-related disclosures by listed issuers and clarification of existing disclosure obligations'.

The consultation paper sets out, amongst other things, the FCA's proposals to require commercial companies with a UK premium listing to state whether they comply with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures-aligned disclosures and explain any non-compliance. In the consultation paper, the FCA also sets out the text of a proposed Technical Note clarifying existing disclosure obligations which may be applicable to a range of issuers.

The consultation period closes on 1 October 2020.
