Chancery Lane Project launches Green Paper of Model Laws and Climate Contracts Playbook

The Chancery Lane Project has launched the first edition of its, 'Green Paper of Model Laws' (the Green Paper) and its 'Climate Contracts Playbook' (the Playbook). The Chancery Lane Project is a collaborative effort of UK lawyers to develop new contracts and model laws to help fight climate change.

The Green Paper includes various ideas for new model laws, regulation and policy designed to target climate change. This includes 'Bill's Law' which amends the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 to require by law that all new commercial leases include green lease clauses. The Playbook consists of consists of 16 free-to-use contractual clauses to guide lawyers when drafting climate solutions for clients.
