Whilst lending to developing markets has never been without its challenges, the last two years have demonstrated that many of the biggest shocks are external ones. That said, whilst recent events have not emanated from developing markets themselves, their impact is likely to be greatest in those regions and economies in which investment is traditionally always more cautious. However, those who are able to accurately risk assess, navigate and circumvent the challenges are likely to reap the rewards of doing so, assuming they also have the necessary understanding of the political, legal and economic environment in which they are seeking to do business.

This was the LMA's 8th Developing Markets Conference and is viewed by our members as the go-to-event covering this region. We were delighted to hold this event physically in London once more at etc. Venues St Paul's, but also stream it online to our members around the world who were not able to travel.

The agenda ran as plenary throughout the day covering CEE/CIS, Turkey, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
